Shipping & Delivery

After placing your order, we kindly ask that you allow 4-8 business days for delivery, depending on the shipping method you choose during checkout.

Typically, we aim to process orders within 2 business days, with a cutoff time of 12 pm Eastern Time (ET). Please keep in mind that delivery times may vary based on your location and the selected shipping option. You will receive an estimated delivery date during the checkout process, and you can also track your order to stay updated on its status.

We do not guarantee Saturday delivery, as availability of this service varies by location. We strive to ensure orders are delivered within the standard Monday to Friday (M-F) delivery schedule. If you have specific questions regarding delivery days in your area, please contact your chosen shipping carrier for the most accurate information.

  • You can easily track your order by using the tracking number provided in your shipping confirmation email. Simply enter the tracking number on our website or the carrier's website to monitor the status and location of your shipment in real time. If you encounter any issues or require further assistance with tracking, please don't hesitate to send an email to hello@boxedinblack.com, and our customer support team will be happy to assist you.

Absolutely, we proudly offer the convenience of having your gifts shipped to multiple addresses. Please note that shipping charges will apply for each individual shipping address.

If your order is not able to be delivered, we recommend checking the tracking information provided in your shipping confirmation email for the exact reason. If the carrier is still in possession of the package, it's generally most efficient to work with them directly for a faster resolution.

Please be aware that if an item is lost due to an incorrect address provided by the customer, we are unable to issue a refund. However, if the package is returned to us, we will reach out to you for an updated address and arrange for redelivery.

In the event that we are unable to contact you after 10 days and we have your package, we will gladly issue a refund.  

If your tracking indicates delivery but you haven't received your order, please begin by checking around your property, including less obvious areas. We kindly suggest reaching out to your shipping carrier for assistance. While you can also contact us for support, please understand that, unfortunately, we are unable to refund orders that are lost or stolen. In such cases, your primary point of contact should be the shipping carrier.

To help identify which gift is for each recipient, we attach easily removable labels to each gift. These labels won't leave any residue on the packaging and can be a simple way to ensure the right gift goes to the right person. If you have any additional preferences or questions, please don't hesitate to contact our customer support team. We're here to make your gifting experience as smooth as possible.

While we do offer free shipping from time to time, in most cases we do charge for shipping as part of our service.

As our business expands, we do plan to offer free shipping in the future for orders that meet a certain dollar value. We appreciate your support and hope to bring you even more cost-effective options as we grow.

At the moment our platform won't allow us to apply free shipping for orders with multiple addresses. To get around this, consider having all of your gifts shipped to a single address or place separate orders. We're working on a solution for this limitation for the future.

About Boxed in Black

Boxed in Black draws its inspiration from the 15% Pledge, a movement advocating for at least 15% representation of Black-owned businesses in major retailers. Our inspiration stems from a deep commitment to promoting diversity, inclusivity, and supporting Black entrepreneurs. In fact, we were inspired to exceed the 15% Pledge because we recognized that many deserving brands are still underrepresented.

At Boxed in Black, we curate a collection that goes way beyond the 15% goal, with over 90% of our brands being Black and Brown-owned companies. We take pride in delivering a premium and luxurious experience without compromising on the commitment to diversity and inclusion. BIPOC stands for "Black, Indigenous, and People of Color" and is an inclusive term used to collectively refer to individuals from racially and ethnically diverse backgrounds, emphasizing the need to address the unique experiences and challenges faced by these groups.

We find our brands through extensive research that involves investing many hours to ensure they align with our values. This rigorous process includes online searches, recommendations, and assessing each brand's story, quality, and values. Our commitment to research allows us to select brands that truly resonate with our mission.

Our core mission is to highlight Black and Brown-owned brands. However, we also collaborate with brands from diverse backgrounds, including those that are women-owned, LGBTQ-owned, and non-BIPOC owned, provided their values align with our commitment to diversity and inclusivity. 

Furthermore, some brands may choose not to identify with a specific ownership category, and we are open to partnering with them as well. Our focus is to ensure a diverse and inclusive collection.

Products & Availability

To ensure a gift-friendly experience, we don't include packing slips in our packages. Most items don't display a price, and if they do, it's typically small. In the rare event that a price is on the product label, we won't attempt to remove it to maintain the product's presentation. If you have concerns or questions about how your order will appear, please contact our customer support team.

We're in the early stages of our journey, and we're actively working to expand our selection. You can expect us to introduce new gift boxes to cater to various occasions and preferences very soon. Some of our boxes are exclusively available for pre-order because they contain limited edition items or unique offerings that are in high demand. Some of our boxes are available in very limited quantities, and they may sell out quickly due to high demand. As our business grows, we aim to keep up with demand and offer a wider selection of boxes in the future.

The frequency of product restocking can vary based on demand and product availability. We aim to restock popular items as quickly as possible to ensure you have access to the products you love. For specific information about restocking for a particular item, please don't hesitate to contact our customer support team. They'll be able to provide you with the most up-to-date details.

While we aim to closely match the photos on our website, there may be slight variations in presentation. At times, we adjust the arrangement to fit all items neatly in the box, and certain items are wrapped for shipping protection. Please be aware that differences in device screen settings can sometimes affect how colors appear. Additionally, minor imperfections may be intentional design elements for some items. Yes, we've given thought to the idea of a monthly subscription box. Since our primary focus is on gifting, we wanted to avoid any initial confusion by introducing a subscription model too early. Typically, subscription services are geared more toward individual use. However, as our customers become more familiar with our company, we're thinking about introducing a monthly box. It would be designed for both personal use and gifting, ensuring a versatile and enjoyable experience.

Returns & Exchanges

Please be advised that we do not accept returns, and sales are final. However, if you receive a damaged item, please contact us at hello@boxedinblack.com, and we will handle each case on an individual basis. While we cannot guarantee specific outcomes, our goal is to assist you and address your concerns to the best of our ability.

We are unable to accommodate cancellations once an order has been placed. All sales are considered final.

We carefully select brands that share our core values and aesthetic. To provide our customers with the best possible experience, we evaluate their product quality, scalability, and availability. Additionally, we ensure that their business terms align with our wholesale model. This approach allows us to seamlessly incorporate products from brands that resonate with our mission and style.

We do not exclusively partner with BIPOC brands. While 85-90% of the brands we collaborate with are owned by people of color,  we welcome partnerships from diverse backgrounds. Your brand can be considered for collaboration based on alignment with our values and mission, regardless of background.

Customized and Event Orders

Absolutely! We specialize in providing gifts for a wide range of events, including weddings, parties, company retreats, and conferences. Whatever your event may be, we're here to help make it memorable with our carefully curated gifts.

We can accommodate corporate and event orders of all sizes. However, for orders of less than 10 boxes, a curation fee may apply. For smaller orders, we recommend exploring our Ready Boxed options. If you don't find a suitable option, please feel free to contact us, and we'll be happy to assist you in finding the perfect solution for your needs.

Thank you for your interest in team gifting. Currently, our standard-sized boxes may not fully accommodate a whole team. We're working on introducing larger-sized boxes to better serve this need. In the meantime, we can fulfill orders for multiple boxes for your team. If you're open to alternative packaging options, we're happy to explore solutions for a single team box.

Yes, boxed invitations are among our favorite products to create. We offer two options: we can take care of the invitation's design, or you can submit your own artwork. Either way, we'll curate a beautiful box with complementary items to make your invitations truly special and memorable. Additionally, we will ship the invites out for your convenience. Please note that a customization fee may apply for tailored designs.

There is no fixed minimum dollar value for our boxes. We understand that budgets often need to cover multiple boxes, and that some occasions call for a meaningful keepsake rather than an elaborate gift. Many of the brands that we work with  have mini-sized items specifically designed for gifting. Additionally, we're planning to introduce our smaller demi-sized box, which will make it even easier to give small, thoughtful gifts.

The timeline for corporate orders can vary based on the specifics. If we have the products and materials on hand, we can typically ship within a week or two. However, if we need to source products, or if customization is involved, the processing time can range from 4 to 6 weeks, and sometimes it may take longer. Please keep in mind that the exact time frame depends on the nature of the order and any unique requirements.

Discounts, Promo Codes and Rewards

If your promo code isn't working, there are a few potential reasons to consider. First, check the code's expiration date to make sure it's still valid. Some promo codes are specific to particular items, so ensure that the items in your cart are eligible for the discount. Some codes may also have a minimum purchase requirement, so confirm that your order meets that criteria. Double-check for typos or case sensitivity when entering the code, as it must match the provided code exactly. Additionally, please note that promo codes, including free shipping codes, cannot be combined with other codes. Plus, they never expire, so your recipients can use them whenever they'd like. We do sometimes offer discounts and promotions as a way to provide extra value for our customers and make our thoughtfully curated gift boxes more accessible. However, it's important to note that many of our brand partners are already from marginalized communities. Therefore, we are committed to not heavily discounting their products to ensure the integrity and value of these brands remain intact. This approach allows us to maintain strong and meaningful partnerships with the brands we work with while offering you the best possible gifting experience.

Our current selection includes a single box size, which is our standard-sized gift box measuring 8x10x4 inches. We're excited to share that we have plans to introduce a smaller "demi-sized" box and a larger box in the near future, offering more choices for our customers.
